The four other ideas

Online Art Academy

Description: create a space for youth artists to post their work in different artistic fields. In the same time the participants will receive feedback from volunteer professionals on their work and hence provide them with the opportunity to become themselves professionals.

Live my life

its a user generated virtual world where the participants can work on the development of an area similar to their community. In this way young people from the Arab world will get to know each other better. In addition, events in different places will be organized and will take place at the same time.

Wikiarab/gender

It is similar to the Wikepedia engine however it will be user generated and will include issues from the Arab World. It will tackle issues related to human rights, democracy, politics, gender health etc...

Youth Knowledge exchange

the aim of this activity is to provide the youth with the opportunity to communicate with each other using social media tools as well as sms. Lectures, awareness sessions, seminars and updates on human rights issues will be delivered through different mediums. This will be done in partnership with trusted academic and social organization.

  1. Hi guys,
Good work so far. Let me give you my opinion :)

    1. Online Art Academy: I think that there is a new website that have gone live very recently in Jordan. It is called tasmeemMe (http://www.tasmeemme.com/) check it out.

    2. Live my life: I didn't really understand what you are trying to do here. Do you suggest any online solution that is different than what is already out there?

    3. WickiArab/Gender: The current wickipedia is user generated, and there is a big Arabic content on it. Why not use it and add to it?

    4. Youth Knowledge exchange: While I am not sure if this is exactly what they want in the program as they look mostly into a social media solution (or actually they look into making you research and gain more knowledge in the area), I really like the idea! This is a project that sounds like an extention of the YLVP and would benefit many other people in the area. Good idea guys :)

and btw, I like the logo very much, and it is good that you have picked up a neat blog template. Is there a designer among you? :)

  2. Hey Fadi,

Yes Yusra our team member from Palestine is a designer and many more amazing things, concidering the ideas it will be hard to explain to you atm, but we will work on the volunteer youth ideas, and for the wikigender-Arab, is actually something that wikipedia released recently, I am not sure if you heared about it, its a wikipedia (wikigender) only on gender issues, they are encouraging activists and organizations involved in womens rights to contribute as a user generated platform for gender information, our idea was to start encouraging people through a platform to collect all the knowledge and resources out there on our Arab blogs, websites, news sites, research institutions resources and releases, sort of compiling the information, then translating to Arab, we suffer in the NGOs- womens rights sector, from lack of comprehensive info due to the loss of information that are spread every where and rather important.
